Rise Up and Drink the Coffee

Rise Up Coffee Roasters

Rise Up Coffee Roasters is a completely kick-ass coffee shop in Easton, MD. Go there.

I just had the most wonderful weekend away with my husband celebrating our 5th anniversary. We spent the long weekend in Chincoteague, VA eating, laughing, and hiking through the nature preserves. Even though it rained on us most of the time, we just had fun meeting great people and completely relaxing.

What does this have to do with coffee? Well, we drank quite a bit of it. All good. But the best was the awesome little coffee shop we found in Easton, MD on the way home (thank you Smart phone GPS apps!). Rise Up Coffee Roasters are a small, independently owned roaster serving the broad Washington, DC area (so those of you in Maryland, start asking Whole Foods to sell their coffee).

Me and Noah, one of the owners of Rise Up Coffee Roasters.

We pulled in as it was beginning to rain again. The store front is kind of small, but that’s just fine. The barrista, whose name we didn’t catch, made Rick the best latte he’s ever had. I got a regular old half caf, and it too was amazing. Then we wandered to the back of the shop where the roasting happens. Noah and Tim, the owners, welcome their guests to come over to the roasters and watch the process. They spent some time taking to us about coffee and their vision of the business (keep it small, the quality high, and sell through store that support local businesses). We left with a promise to talk to the stores in our area and convince them to carry this amazing product.

I highly suggest looking at their web site…it’s what really convinced us to leave the highway and visit the shop. Rise Up Coffee Roasters.
